Dr. Coté will be providing a presentation in the SVPA Training Series on Diversity & Multicultural Issues in Psychology and Psychotherapy.
This training aims to help practitioners explore Standards of Care in working with diverse transgender and gender creative adults (e.g., non-binary, genderqueer, agender individuals) seeking medical intervention. The training also addresses key elements within ecological behavioral health assessment.
Dr. Coté's practical, interactive, and engaging presentation aims to assist clinicians in feeling more grounded in providing care for transgender and gender diverse clients who seek gender transition support.
Sacramento Valley Psychological Association Conference: Cutting Edge Innovations and Community Connections
Dr. Coté will be presenting with colleagues at the SVPA annual conference on issues related to addressing therapeutic ruptures across difference.
This training will provide an overview of how to promote culturally competent mental health care for gender diverse students.
Dr. Coté will be discussing processes of healing for sexual assault and sexual violence survivors, specifically for college students.
Dr. Coté is partnering with WEAVE Inc., a non-profit agency in Sacramento, to address cultural considerations when working with survivors from diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds, as well as diverse gender and sexual identities.
The California Black Health Network (http://www.cablackhealthnetwork.org) and their faith-based partners are hosting an event to connect and serve the entire City and County of Sacramento and its diverse communities to provide awareness of services available to assist residents in reaching their optimal health and well-being.
In this mindfulness workshop, participants will have the opportunity to expand their understanding of stress. Participants will also experiment with mindful approaches to address life stressors and uncomfortable feelings related to navigating in a world of intersecting social oppressions. Through reflection, group dialogue, and gentle yoga and breathing practice, participants will have the opportunity to refresh and re-ground. No prior yoga experience necessary.
